How true you are Margaret. I now, on March 9, 2005, am honored to present the first poem of this new poem's page to you all entitled:

THE MESSAGE OF THE CROSS


Oh Jesus Christ, my guiding star
Humbly I've visioned from afar
The soldiers--as your body did mar
Hands, feet and side --with awful scar.


Your blood it fell down --drop by drop
As those cruel thorns were placed atop
That lonely head-touched by vinegar sop
All for me---my punishment to stop.


The darkness fell--I was afraid
As atonement for my sin was made
All my punishment on You was laid
It's now complete-- to me you said.


Go live your life for Me aright,
Live with my Cross always in sight
Praying and pleading with all your might
Helping other sinners to win the fight.


The Cross gives all this message plain,
New Life in you He will sustain
Believe he died, and be born again
If you don't believe---He died in vain

IF TOMORROW STARTS WITHOUT ME

A few weeks ago a woman was killed in an auto accident. She was very, very well liked, so the OFFICE shut down for her funeral and it was on the news and so on. On the day the workers came back to work, they found this poem in their e-mail that the deceased woman had sent on Friday before she left for home.

IF TOMORROW STARTS WITHOUT ME

If tomorrow starts without me, And I'm not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry the way you did today,
While thinking of the many things, We didn't get to say.
 I know how much you love me, As much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me, I know you'll miss me too;
But when tomorrow starts without me, Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name, And took me by the hand,
And said my place was ready, In heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind; All those I dearly love.


But as I turned to walk away, A tear fell from my eye
 for all my life, I'd always thought, I didn't want to die.

 I had so much to live for,
So much left yet to do, It seemed almost impossible,

That I was leaving you.
 I thought of all the yesterdays, The good ones and the bad,
I thought of all that we shared, And all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday, Just even for a while,
I'd say good-bye and kiss you and maybe see you smile.

But then I fully realized, That this could never be,

For emptiness and memories,
 would take the place of me.

And when I thought of worldly things,
I might miss come tomorrow, I thought of you,
and when I did, My heart was filled with sorrow.


But when I walked through heaven's gates, I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,

 From His great golden throne,
He said, "This is eternity, And all I've promised you."
Today your life on earth is past, but here life starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow, But today will always last, and since
each day's the same way, There's no longing for the past.
You have been so faithful, So trusting and so true.
Though there were times you did some things,

You knew you shouldn't do.
 But you have been forgiven, and now at last you're free.
So won't you come and take my hand, and share my life with me?
So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart,
 For every time you think of me, I'm right here, in your heart.

 That Day!

From the beginning of time JESUS knew about that day

HE watched as the price of sin grew harder to pay

JESUS knew it was time to come and have HIS say

JESUS came to earth in the form of human flesh

At a very young age JESUS began to teach and to bless

JESUS stirred the people's hearts, causing some not to rest

And many of these people put JESUS to the test

JESUS knew their thoughts and HE knew their hearts were cold

As their anger grew and they accepted the grip of the devil's hold

Because of greed, thirty pieces of silver, we are told

Is what Judas was given when JESUS was sold.

JESUS was falsely accused, beaten and tried

"Crucify Him, Crucify Him," the people did cry

So because JESUS Loves humans so much HE was willing to die

To pay the sin debt with HIS perfect blood that only HE could supply

On the cross, for all mankind, JESUS prayed, suffered and died

In the borrowed tomb, JESUS was laid as HIS followers cried

But death and the grave could not hold HIM, nor did the devil win

And now only JESUS can save our souls from sin

Yes, JESUS knew from the beginning of time about that day

But oh what a precious day it means to me in so many ways

I thank GOD for JESUS, my Saviour, every day I pray

Because of this Sacred Gift JESUS so freely gives,

Christians will live in Heaven with JESUS someday!

 Put God Into Your Marriage
 
 The love of newlyweds is special and new
 Their future is bright and fresh as dew
 Full of promise and their hope is bright
 No problem too big that they can't fight.
 
 The first two years, the threat is real
 So say the experts, of win or fail
 But these two are tried and true
 The threat has come and gone; their love is still new.
 
 The first five years have come and gone
 Through trials and tribulations, they're still as one
 Their love for each other is just as bright
 Their dreams of the future is looked on with delight.
 
 Six years, seven years, eight years go past
 Dreams of the future now don't last
 Even though they say they love one another
 They look at each other and silently wonder.
 
 The fights and arguments begin to increase
 And the love for each other begin to decrease
 Where once they considered the feelings of each other
 Now it's too much trouble; they don't want to bother.
 
 They've never gone to church; God is a stranger
 They go on through life, not seeing the danger
 They silently ask themselves, "Should this marriage continue
 Or should we just stop it now, it's no longer new?"
 
 Once they would agree; now it's "You are wrong, I am right!"
 Not willing to budge, but preparing to fight
 They forgot true love and the vows they once canted
 Now all they do is take each other for granted.
 
 They look to the future, now it looks bleak
 Past fights and emotional scars have made them weak
 Without God there to help them grow
 They decide to quit, divorce and go.
 
 If only they would have invited Jesus from the very start
 Into their lives, and marriage and hearts
 There still would be struggles, there and here
 But God's Word says Not To Fear
 
 Your hearts He will refresh daily and love made new
 And gives you wisdom to know what to do
 On Him all your fears and troubles do you cast
 And your marriage will be all joy and will continue to last.
 
 What I have spoken here is tried and true
 My love for my wife is just like new
 Over thirteen years we have been wed
 And by God's Word we are still led.
 
 So please, you newlyweds and everyone reading this now
 Invite God into your hearts, and you will see how
 Your love for each other will always burn bright
 As long as you continue in God's Holy Light.

A Half Forgotten Dream
 

A half forgotten dream locked away inside,
Reluctantly comes out to play on an eventide,
But as always, it was all just a deformed sham, dark comes quickly;
And into the blackness, the dream marches back;
mourning the loss of light.

It sits there in the dark, so seamless, so solid;
That the once merry flame of innocence and pride is dimmed;
It's strength to live slowly dwindling away into a pool of dark reality;
And it comes out to play no more.

The sunlight isn't as bright;
The robin's egg, blue of the sky, takes on a grey hue;
The sweet whisper of the wind calls to me never again;
The beauty of the seasons has faded from mind.

The dream brought living to life;
And taught me how to smile...
It was all I knew, and knowing wasn't important;
Feeling was the potent element in time.

It is weak, but the dream still sends it thin melody;
Through the caverns of my heart where it is imprisoned in near death;
And its sorrowful song reaches my ears in times of silence;
Begging to be set free, to play outside in life again,
Upon the eventide...
