Good Morning Everyone,

Well, it is back to the old grindstone for most of you this morning, after a weekend of grueling activities of play. Settling back to the humdrum of the daily chores and hard work. The weekend end of fun and play and do what you like in the way of relaxation is over, and we can concentrate on making a living for another week.
You know the old saying: Better get to work because, Baby needs a new pair of shoes. Speaking of which;

A baby is a small member of the family that makes love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, the bankroll smaller, the home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for. Don’t ask me where I am going with this. I just get up in the morning and ask the Lord to give me something that will bless you, pour a cup of coffee, no cigarettes as I quit on Christmas day, fire up this Puter and, as Jackie Gleason used to say on the Honeymooners, “Away we Go.” (smile)

You Know? I looked up W O R K in the back of my Bible just now and there are more references listed there than most words? If you don’t mind, I would love to share a few scriptures about work, as space permits, for My Thought For Today.

Proverbs 31: 31 Read verses 10 thru 31 One of the most beautiful passages in the Bible. This should be the goal of every woman.
[31] Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Galatians 6: 4, 5
[4] But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
[5] For every man shall bear his own burden.

I Thessalonians 4: 11, 12
[11] And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
[12] That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.

II Thessalonians 3: 10
[10] For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

Hard physical work builds a strong physical body and is rewarded by a paycheck, but doing God’s work and studying you Bible builds character, gives knowledge and wisdom, and your reward is in Heaven. You need both to have a balance in life.

Good Morning Everyone,

If you read yesterday’s thought, you may have recognized that I am one who truly appreciates all the wonderful things God has to offer. Especially a lovely sunny, crisp day. If any of you have breathing problems and have to gasp for your air when the air is heavy then you know what I am talking about when I say crisp air. I hope that each of you are taking the time to see God in everything around you. As the old adage goes taking time to smell the roses...

Yesterday, Connie said that I had been on this puter too much and I needed to get out of this room for awhile. I had the window open and a gentle breeze was blowing in and I have a terrific view from my study window but as usual she was right. We called her sister, Aunt Dot and her husband Ed and all four of us went to Ky. Lake and just drove around and seeing all the splendors of God.

Yesterday I mentioned Gardening and Fishing. Well let me tell you there were boats and people with their poles in the water everywhere. Everywhere you looked on the lake, people were enjoying a beautiful day. We drove through a couple of campgrounds and people were walking their pets and BBQing and you could smell the camp fires. Most had little patches of flowers growing around their campers.

In the land between the lakes , Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake, It is less populated and has some truly scenic drives. This is where the air is so pure and nature is at it’s best. And this is where you can just feel closer to God and see God in all the beauty that surrounds you. There are many scriptures that could be placed here but My Thought for Today comes from:


Genesis 1: 1, and 31
[1] In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

[31] And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

We as humans now may enjoy the fruits of God’s labor in creating all things. Basking in the beauty He has placed everywhere you look. We should strive everyday as if it were our last, for one day it will be! I am convinced that when a man is ready or prepared to die, it is also then that he is prepared to live.

Take a little time to get out, if at all possible, and allow God to show you some of His labors of love in creation.

Good Morning,

With such a beautiful day outside, I suppose that everyone who is able is doing the things we have been waiting all winter to do, like fishing and gardening. Well, I guess that a few poor souls are having to work today and my heart goes out to you. The main this is to be happy and enjoy what you are doing today, with out worrying or fretting, regardless of what that task might be. Be thankful that God has seen fit to give you the where with all to be able to perform the task set before you..

Before I go on into our thought I would like to report that our revival concluded last night and there were several moves made. One being that Bill Cardwell surrendered to become a preacher. Well, Glory! I ask that you all pray for young Bill as he strives to serve God in this awesome task of responsibility, which brings us to ‘My Thought for Today,’ coming from:

Romans 10: 8, 17
[8] But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
[9] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
[10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
[11] For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
[12] For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
[13] For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
[14] How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
[15] And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

I am so thrilled that one day I heard the word of God and by faith in the Gospel of Christ was born again. And if you are a born again Christian, you too had to first hear those powerful words proclaimed from the Bible. For you who are Concerned parents I leave this quote by; Charles A. Wells. “The school will teach children how to read, but the environment of the home must teach them what to read. The school can teach them how to think, but the home must teach them what to believe.”

May God give you a desire to attend the church of your choice tomorrow.

Good Morning Everyone,
Well yes, I made it before noon. Getting up that is. (smile) After working all night on the Heaven Bound site trying to get the music on there, the last thing I could remember was the ol’ grandfather clock bonging 5 times. WOW! Here it is Friday, the sun is shinning bright and I have been lying in bed like an old Walrus. I hope that you are having the most wonderful day to day and that everything is running smoothly for you, and I hope that your boss gives you a raise... (Big Smile)

I received several e-mails and was told that I had become their online preacher. I am honored. I have always felt proportionately deprived of adequacy concerning the presentation of God’s Word. Not having a great deal of formal education and no title letters behind my name. I have always been just plain ol’ Jim. My intrinsic nature quality is, when I began a task, no matter how simple or complex it may be to totally focus on that task and put every ounce of fiber in my being to accomplishing that task. I have done that in everything I have set my mind to. So it has been in the study of God’s Word.

However, when I first began preaching this feeling of inadequacy had and adverse effect on my preaching ability. That is, until the Holy Spirit showed me these verses, which leads me to My Thought for Today;

I John 2: 20, 22----26, 28 and Matthew 5: 5
[20] But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
[21] I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
[22] Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

[26] These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.
[27] But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
[28] And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

Matthew 5: 5
[5] Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

It is our human nature to be proud, not meek. Only the Holy Spirit can change our lives through our born again experience, and then do a complete make over in us transforming us into the image of Christ, our example of what pleases God in the way of meekness.

May God give you understanding and wisdom, not for prideful consumption, but that you may become meek and humble servants, pleasing to Our Father in Heaven.

Good Morning Everyone,
I am a little late this morning and by the time I publish My Thought today, it will be well past noon. It normally takes me about 2 to 3 or more hours to make this one page. I guess mainly because I am a slow thinker and I expect of myself the very best that I can give you. After all, who wants to read some foolish babblings from someone who doesn’t know what he/she is talking about. I know I don’t.

I was up half the night last night trying to straighten out some of the music pages on both the Heaven Bound site and Allegre site. Boy what a mess. Whew! I have come to the conclusion that some of those technician talk like they are a walking piece of knowledge extraordinair, when in actuality they have just knowledge enough to make a mess of things.. Sounds like some preachers I have heard.

You know that it isn’t a shame not to know something, but it is a shame not to ask someone who does and learn. I guess that I am picking on (some) preachers today. Ignorance is bliss but only if you keep it to yourself. I had a preacher friend who didn’t know what the gospel was. I wasn’t sure what to tell him and I got to asking around. Some said good news, and some other things.

So I ask you; What is the Gospel? What does the Gospel mean to you? Where can I find the answer to this in the Bible? While we’re contemplating on this, let’s look at, My Thought For Today.

I Corinthians 15: 1, 8
[1] Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
[2] By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
[3] For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
[4] And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
[5] And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
[6] After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
[7] After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
[8] And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

To say, “The Gospel is the Good News,” may be grammaticality correct but when you know Jesus, one must say, “The Great and Awesome News of the Gospel” to be Heavenly correct. And that Gospel News is, the death, burial, and resurrection of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ..... Oh, What joy that floods my soul.

May God Bless you today with the knowledge of that Awesome News of the Gospel.

Good Morning Everyone, April 25th

Have you looked out side? I mean really looked outside? I wish I could just send you a picture of the view from my window. The sun is shining and those poor little humming birds wear me out just watching them. One sits guard on the feeder and chases the others away before they can drink. They just zoom up and down the porch and if you step out the back door you’d better duck because they’ll zip right by you.

There are 2 little blue birds making their home in one bird house an 2 more in another. Our big birdhouse is being occupied by some red winged black birds. Oh, I mustn’t forget those cute little rabbits chasing each other all over the side yard and the squirrels playing up and down and all around the trees.

Yes sir, everywhere I look there is love in the air. Spring has truly sprung here at the Bar-K-Ranch. Everyone needs to feel loved but it just seems the need is more acute this time of the year. Even one the Internet there is love displayed toward one another. Odd, isn’t it, that a person can feel love for someone they have never met. With the word Charity being interpreted as Love: may you feel my charity for you as you read, “My Thought For Today”

I Corinthians 13: 1, 13

Good Morning Everyone,

It is another beautiful sunny day this morning after the thunderstorms last night. I have a correction to make. Our revival starts at 7:00 pm instead of 7:30. There were some who missed the music and the start of the sermon. I would ask your prayers for these services, that souls might come to know Jesus and that understanding and wisdom will come to those who are saved.

I would also like to remember those people who are in flooding conditions in our country this morning. From Minn. to Iowa, they battle to keep from loosing their homes and possessions. For those of us who are high and dry it is hard to fathom the trauma of these poor people who have lost so much.

On a lighter note; Connie’s brothers, Mike and Monkey are both at home this morning. I thank you for praying and I thank, magnify, and praise God for answered prayer which leads to My Thought For Today found in;

Psalms 34: 3, 10
[3] O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
[4] I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
[5] They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
[6] This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
[7] The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
[8] O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
[9] O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
[10] The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

All of us have our own unique problems to deal with. Some are dealing with floodwaters today. Some are dealing with loss because of some other natural hardship. Some may be in despair because of the loss of a loved one or an illness, which we have to battle day after day. Some are homeless and hungry. Some fighting addictions. Some are just plain lost. Stumbling through life seeking and never finding.

Whatever your desperation may be; Look to God. Upon the authority of God’s word, I declare that Christ is the answer to every baffling perplexity, which plagues mankind. In Him is found the answers you seek.

May the Lord hear you as you seek Him; and deliver you from your fears.

Good Morning Everyone,

What a wonderful Monday Morning to serve God. The sun is shining and there is a gentle breeze coming in my study window this morning and to top it off my coffee just taste extra fine today. Connie’s one brother, Monkey is doing much better and he got to come home from the hospital yesterday. Brother Mike is doing better also. Connie and I truly do appreciate your prayers. Thank you so much.

I hope that you are enjoying a delightful day as you choose to serve God today. It is a terrible thing but most Americans will not choose to follow God today. They will be to busy thinking about other things to allow God to enter their minds; but as for me; well that is what My Thought For Today is about.

Joshua 24: 15, 24
[15] And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

God commands man to make choices, but only after providing him with sufficient information so that his choices will be informed ones. The choices we make have the potential for affecting our lives for better or worse.

May we make the right choices today.

Good Morning Dear Friend,

And a top of the morning to you. It is a beautiful Sunday morning here in the hills of Kentucky this morning and God has provided a comfortable 69 degrees for us to enjoy. As most of you know, I normally am a pretty much laid back sort of guy who totally enjoys most things, no matter how simple. I can be happy watching the humming birds zipping up and down the porch, the horses munching on their hay, and the grandbabies running all over the place like little Indians.

But I can get quite excitable at times too. Especially when I put a great deal of work into something and get it looking good and someone messes it all up. It is bad enough when I mess something up through my stupidity. You may recall the other day when I ran the hay forks through the radiator of the little ford tractor and I punched out the garage bracing. I was mad at myself for that dumb move. (smile)

But as I look at my web site and think of all the long frustrating hours of self instruction learning how to get the pages to be the best possible. To Glorify God and reach out to lost souls, pointing the way to Jesus and trying to comfort those who are hurting, only to have Satan have his helpers mess it up just fries my brain..... I know------ I know, we are supposed to turn the other cheek and to forgive those who mess up your hard work---------- BUT -------hmmmmmmmmmm before I continue maybe I better look to God’s word which leads me to My Thought For Today!!!

Romans 12: 1, 2 and 17, 21
[1] I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
[2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Romans 12: 17, 21
[17] Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
[18] If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
[19] Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
[20] Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
[21] Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

It is not always easy going from conformation to transformation. To be acceptable unto God and in His perfect will. It is not easy to forgive one of Satan’s helpers when you have been mistreated. But There is nothing like a grace-filled disposition for putting the devil to flight.

May you and I have the courage to forgive those who have hurt us.

Good Morning Everyone,

This has been a super duper rough day and I pray that you have had a beautiful Saturday. We’ve have had people in and out all day but I would love to give you a update on Connie’s brothers. Both have been taken to rooms and are doing much better. I just want to thank each of you for your prayers. God has been so gracious and I praise His Holy Name..

My Thought For Today isn’t going to make it to the site as geocities is doing something or someone is interfering with my sites. On the Heaven bound site I am getting error boxes in page builder and on the gospel featured artist page has become all distorted and has html language on it. ie. ", and   I haven’t done this so I am not sure what is happening. The Allegre site has error message on page builder also. I have no music playing on any of my pages.. I will try again in the morning. If the music plays for you, please write and let me know. Thanks..

My Thought For Today is Late, I am just thankful that God’s timing is never late. As I think about it; All time is Late and we are rapidly approaching the midnight hour. Are you ready? So many haven’t repented of their sin.

[1] Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;
[2] A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.
[3] A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.

True repentance is a turning from sin----a conscious, deliberate decision to leave sin behind----and a conscious turning to God with a commitment to follow His will for our lives. It is a change of direction, an alteration of attitudes, and a yielding of the will.

May we be ready for the returning of Jesus---For His return is at hand...

Good Morning Everyone,

I pray that you are having a grand Friday and looking forward to the weekend with great expectations. Have you ever heard of the expression, “ I don’t know how things could have gotten any worse, but they did?“ When I first put my thought on the WWWeb, I wanted it to be a blessing to the readers, and I hope that it is, but I also felt I should make it more personal. My desire is to become an internet family by sharing a little of my daily life with you and yours with me. I feel that I have accomplished this with many of you and I just want to say that you have come to mean very much to me.

Most of you know about the 4 bypass heart surgery and have been praying for Connie’s brother, Mike. Well, yesterday Connie was painting some old porch furniture when the Sheriff pulled up. It seemed as though the Emu (named, Big Bird because he is 5‘foot tall) she got the other day had gotten out and was running around and crossing the road. Thankfully the Sheriff was kind enough to help Connie catch Big Bird and bring him home all tied up before some one hit him.

With worrying about Mike, the scare about Big Bird, and trying to get things done here, came a phone call, and here comes the things just got worse part. Connie’s other brother, Monkey couldn’t breath and they were taking him to the hospital emergency. Monkey had metal valves put in his heart years ago and they are acting up. He has water on his lungs and pnemonia along with this. So Connie took her brother Duger and they stayed until late last night at the hospital. So now Connie has her brothers, Mike and Monkey in 2 different hospitals and both in intensive care. I ask for your prayers.

In My Thought For Today, let’s see what God has to say when, “things get worse”
Hebrews 4: 14, 16 and Hebrews 5: 8, 9
[14] Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
[15] For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
[16] Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 5: 8, 9
[8] Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
[9] And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

In our sufferings and tribulations Jesus Himself must be our chief consideration. We must fix our eyes upon Him. He who suffered for us shows us how we are to bear our sufferings.

Good Morning Everyone,

The sun is just popping up this morning and what a glorious morning it is to be alive. As I was thinking about what I was going to think about this morning (looks like I had better get another cup of coffee, (smile), I remembered something my grandpa told me a few years back. He was reminiscing about when he worked at Good Year and told me the most amazing story. It was about the day Grand pa met an angel at work.

It seems that grand pa hadn’t been a Christian very long and he was witnessing about Jesus on the job. He went into this break shanty and became the ridicule of some of men in there. They got so bad that he couldn’t think of anything to say, when from the corner of the shack, a man, grand pa had never seen before, stood and quoted some scriptures which brought a hush over the hacklers. What the man had said silenced the entire room and all the hacklers could do was hang their heads in shame.

Grand Pa said that the man must have been an angel sent to help him stifle the mouths of those vicious men. For he had never seen the man before that day and never saw the man after that day and Grand Pa worked at Good Year 40 years.
And this leads me into My Thought For Today.

[And the angel answered.......I know that ye seek Jesus......He is not here: for he is risen, as he said.

One of the angels who was sitting outside the tomb proclaimed the greatest message the world has ever heard: “He is not here: for he is risen.” Darkness and despair died; hope and anticipation were born in the hearts of men.

A Late good morning everyone,

I suppose that you might say that I am low gear this morning. (smile) I have found that some days the ol’ bones just don’t want to cooperate with the mind. If science could only come up with a sure fired way of making the body as young as the mind, why wouldn’t we be something? I’d have one of my Appaloosa Horses saddled and giving them the ride of their life and then I’d get in that garage and knock out that old Dodge truck and get it painted, and, -------well, --------I guess that is enough day dreaming for now, but most of you know what I mean. That is if you are over 40 and starting to feel the pangs of the elderly elements. (Big Smile)

Well, maybe one day I will be able to ride my horses again and I am going to paint my old Dodge, if the Lord permits and gives me strength. I’ll send a finished picture to my friends on my mails list when it is finished. I am sure that each of you have something that you are relying on God’s help for in order to accomplished it. Just remember to whom to be grateful when the job is completed. And this leads me to; My Thought For Today, found in;

Good Morning,

The sun is shining this morning but when I stuck my nose outside it fooled me. The only thing I cold say was brrrrrr it’s cold out there. I wouldn’t have gone out but Connie is taking her sister to Nashville to the heart doctor and she wanted me to bring in some flowers she had in the truck. Connie has 3 brothers and 1 sister with heart problems and her brother Mike, the one I had prayer request for, is still in critical condition in the hospital. I would ask that you continue to pray for him.

It seems as though every where you turn, on TV, on the radio, in the newspaper, just everywhere you hear about death and people dying. This is all over the world. Death is a fact of life but to be bombarded by it every day is discouraging and worrysome to say the least, especially for those who are lost and have no hope. I pray that My Thought For Today will encourage you who are saved and open the eyes of you who are without Christ. My Thought come from 2 passages of scripture this morning;

Proverbs 14: 32
[32] The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.

I Thessalonians 4: 13, 18
[13] But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
[14] For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
[15] For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
[16] For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
[17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

For the person who has trusted Christ as Saviour, death is only the beginning, not the end. What a glorious thought with which we can comfort ourselves, no matter what our circumstances. We will see Christ someday if we have put our faith in Him. The question I present to your this morning is; Are you prepared to draw your last breath? If you were to die in the next 2 Minutes, where would your soul go? To Heaven or would you take up residence in Hell? The Bible says that God is a loving God, but it also says, It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. All I ask is that you..................THINK ABOUT IT!

May God Comfort you who are ready to meet Him and may God open the eyes of you who are not ready to meet Him.

'Gaurdian Angels'

Good Morning Everyone,

I guess that I did a little bit to much yesterday. Since this pc hasn’t been working properly I have been spending more time in the garage, piddling. I had to cut off the ends on the little Ford tractor because they ordered the wrong size and I didn’t catch it before welding them on.. Then I welded a blade back on Jimmy’s disk and after that cleaned the garage floor. Then washed the 74 Dodge truck and parked it in the garage.. During supper Connie, Dianne, Mike, and I went out on the back porch see the space shuttle’s return. I passed out and got a knot on my head and scratched my leg. Fortunately, my guardian angel kept me from falling on the concrete.

Angels minister to us personally. We may not always be aware of the presence of angels. We can’t always predict how they will appear. But angels have been said to be our neighbors. Often they may be our companions without our being aware of their presence. Aren’t you happy in this knowledge that as God’s children we have angels to watch over us? May your guardian angel watch over you today and keep you safe from all harm. Well, Glory!

Good Morning Everyone,

There are only 6 words which are appropriate this morning, and they are;
He has risen, Jesus is alive!
It is an odd thing but people as a whole are religious to some extent. Some worship frogs, and owls. Most in India worship cows. Some worship mother earth and some worship great men of long ago, who were wise and just, but have passed on. Some worship voodoo dolls and rituals. Some tribes in South America and in Africa worship sticks and wooden masks. Some bow before statutes, worship and pray to them.

I wish I could convert each and every one of them and they probably would like to do the same to me. That is convert me to their beliefs and religion. I wish I could show those who know not Christ that I do not worship an inanimate object which with time and left unattended, will deteriorate and parish, and unable to do anything for me. I do not worship a dead person who might have been great during his lifetime. And although I respect nature and the earth I can not worship the creation and not the creator. I cannot worship and pray to a statute that was made by human hands but I worship and pray to the One who made those human hands.

I worship and pray to a living God. A Living God who sent a living Son to die for me. But more than give His life for me was able to take His life up again, and is alive today with God in Heaven. I worship a compassionate God who left me not alone but left the Holy Spirit to comfort and guide me in this short walk of life I now take. We owe God Everything! We have been bought and paid for with a terrible price, the shed blood of God's Son. This is “My Thought For Today”

"Love Not This World"

Good Morning Everyone,

Well, it is raining one of those straight down soaking in rains this morning. The woods have taken on the greenish tint of spring and many of Connie girl’s plants and trees are all blooming and are beautiful already. It is going to hit the 80’s this week and I just know that everything is going to bust loose this next week.. I so enjoy watching the miracles of God transforming right before my eyes, don’t you? How anyone can watch the awesome display of springtime and say there is no God is beyond me. I just love this time of year, don’t you?

I am afraid that many have gotten so entangled with this world and grabbing for the golden ring that they, as the old saying goes, haven’t taken the TIME to stop and smell the roses.. You know, I sometimes feel that my disability which has brought me to a grinding halt physically is more of a blessing than a hindrance. For it has made me realize the true values in life. And believe me when I tell you, it isn’t the things of this world for sure..

I John 2: 15, 18
[15] Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
[16] For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Language of which I never heard until I had joined the Army now is common place for our small children to hear in music lyrics, and on TV. Many preachers have become mealy mouthed. Preaching and tickling the ears instead of telling of the pangs of hell, fire and brimstone. Churches are looking for plush comfort instead of winning the lost to Christ. Churches have become a social gathering place instead of a place of worship. Do we love the world? You betcha. What we need is an old time revival. Glory!

Good Morning Everyone.

After a good nights rain, the sun has popped out and it is simply beautiful outside. From my window I can see that the Lilac bush is blooming and will be giving off that lovely fragrance. Don’t you just love the smells of spring? I just want to thank all of you who prayed for Connie’s brother, (Mike) yesterday. He has 4 heart bypass surgery. I guess that you would call that quadruple heart surgery. Any way, all went well and they are monitoring him very close now. But it looks as though everything is going to work out fine.

I am going to ask that you remember me today in prayer. I think that I might have overdone yesterday. I was piddling in the garage, working on that old Dodge Truck. I wasn’t at it very long but when I came in my back and legs were hurting pretty bad and sometime during the night, last night a blood vessel must has burst in my right eye. It is all bloody red this morning and very painful. I have never been very pretty but today, well, let’s just say that I am not someone you would want to meet in a dark alley. (smile)

I pray that each of you are feeling well this morning. I have a prayer request this morning. Connie is at the hospital with her brother Mike. He in open heart surgery as I write and needs intercessory prayer for him. He has been waiting sense his last heart attack to get strong enough to undergo surgery. Mike accepted Christ as his saviour shortly after his heart attack and I was pleased and relieved about that. I guess that sometimes we have to be knocked flat of our back before we look up and realize God is there which brings me to My Thought For Today;

Ezekiel 11:19
[19] And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:

II Corinthians 5: 14, 21
[14] For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
[15] And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

Good Morning Everybody,

Here it is in the middle of the week, the sun is shining, the tulips are blooming, the birds are singing and making their nest, and the fertilizer that Connie put on the yard has kicked into hyper drive. (Smile) hmmmmmm My little tractor has a hole in the radiator and I can’t mow the yard. Connie will have to mow the whole yard with her handy dandy Wal Mart’s Murry riding mower with no brakes...

Wouldn’t it be something if I could put that little tractor in a giant computer and go outside and hit the delete button, and POOF! it would be gone. And then hit the New button and POOF! when you opened the door, there would be a shinny new Ford tractor, a key with my name on it, sitting there running, and a red carpet leading up to the seat. As the saying goes, “if your gonna dream; dream Big.”

You know, as I proof read today’s thought; it has come to my attention that I may have been on this computer to much. They are great though, aren’t they? In a minute I am going to go online to my favorite Bible site and copy my thought’s verse to pc memory and then I am going to come over here and paste the verse right where I want it.

Just a few short years ago if I wanted to erase a word or line, I would have the little white out bottle and painting over the mistake. If a paragraph was wrong, you just had to start all over. Now I just highlight the word, line of words, or paragraph and hit the delete button. poof, it’s gone. If I deleted the wrong thing, just click the undo button and it’s back. Totally amazing! About now you’re probably wondering: Where is this crazy man going with this?

Funny, you should ask. You know God has been hitting the delete button for a long time now. Yea, that’s right, God clicks of EDIT, chooses select all, and after everything has been high-lighted, God hits the DELETE button and poof! All my sins were gone forever.
Now I am not sure that this is God’s exact method so let’s go to My Thought For Today and see what the Bible says.

[19] Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; (blotted out; meaning to obliterate, To destroy utterly; annihilate: To make obscure; hide; delete)

The God of grace forgets our sins and wipes them from His memory forever! He places us in His sight as though we had never committed one sin. It is if an accounting entry has been made in the books of heaven and the Devine Bookkeeper cancels our debt!

Good Morning,

Another beautiful day and I hope that you are enjoying all the wonderful things God has for you. Yesterday was surely an exciting day around here and I hope that today isn’t a repeat. You won’t believe what happened.. It was a blue Monday for sure. Well, Connie and my daughter-in-law have put out a garden together for the last couple of years and last week Jimmy came over and plowed and disked the ground up for them.

My little red belly Ford is kinda hard to start and so it saved me some work. Yesterday the ground was to hard to plant. As soon as I finished with My Thought For Today, Kim ask if I would disk the garden again. My little Ford wouldn’t start so Connie got on the big tractor and pulled me and we didn’t go 10 feet and the little red belly was running. Well, what happened next, only I could do.

My little Ford was facing the big tractor, which by the way has the hay forks on it. I was going to back into the garage to remove the mowing machine so I could put on the disk but instead of putting the Ford in reverse I somehow missed the gear and got it in forward. Yep, you guessed it. Before I could stop the little Ford it plunged into those hay forks and by the time I stopped there was a huge hole in my radiator, totally destroying it.

Well, The next thing I did was a sin. No I didn’t cuss, but I did get off the tractor stepped into the garage and punched out the 2x4 wall braces which hurt my hands and didn’t help the situation any. I managed to get into some barb wire and yep, I punctured my bad leg. I guess that you could say that my little episode cost me about $165.00 to replace the radiator sore hands and painful leg.

I would classify yesterday’s events as foolish, but as foolish as they were, what takes place in My Thought For Today is monumental and prodigious in being foolish.

No sin has been committed in the world today that can compare with the full cup of the universe’s sin that brought Jesus to the cross. To you, sin may be a small thing; to God, it is a great and awful thing. It is the second largest thing in the world; only the love of God is greater.

Well, I guess that we have all survived the weekend. I hope that you have had your cup filled to overflowing with compassion and love from being in church yesterday and hearing the word of God proclaimed. It is good to be feed each week, if you are able to go. It builds faith and faith is the soul’s intake: love is the soul’s outlet.

It is the soul’s outlet I wish to flow into this morning; love.

and Jeremiah 31: 3
[3] The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

It was love that enabled Jesus Christ to become poor that we through His poverty might be rich.

May God’s Love burst forth from you this day; as many waters flow, may your soul’s outlet bubble forth with that love which only God can give.

Good Morning,

A beautiful Sunday with 78 degrees and breezy this morning. I trust that your weekend is running smooth and you are feeling chipper and looking forward to Church this day.
My Thought For Today is concerning trust but not just trust in anything or anyone but trusting in the Lord for all things here on earth and all things eternal and our final home.

My Thought comes from Jeremiah 17; 4, 8 as I read verses 4 thru 6, I picture America and we as Americans turning from God and our heritage which God has given us. America is trusting in man and man’s laws instead of God. Why is there an epidemic of Aids if Americans haven’t made flesh their arm? Why is there so such unrest in our youth, crime rates sky rocketing, and total disregard for authority in today’s society? Could it be that Americans have departed from the Lord?

[4] And thou, even thyself, shalt discontinue from thine heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not: for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever.
[5] Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
[6] For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
[7] Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
[8] For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

The hope we have in Christ is an absolute certainty. We can be sure that the place Christ is preparing for us will be ready when we arrive, because with Him nothing is left to chance. Everything He promised He will deliver..

John 14; 1, 6

Good Morning

I trust that you are having a wonderful weekend. I have gotten the pontoon out and getting it ready for some fishing before long. Connie has just finished planting all her flowers and bushes and trees. Now all I have left is the 74 Dodge 1 Ton to prepare for painting. It is a lot rougher than I first thought. I have had to do a lot of welding on it before I can even start the body work. hmmmmmm, should keep me outta trouble for awhile. (smile)

A wise man once said, “Between the great things we can’t do and the little things we feel above doing, the chances are we will do nothing.” Which leads me into My Thought For Today, coming from;

I Corinthians 1; 18, 31 verse 27 being the text
[18] For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
[19] For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
[20] Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
[21] For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
[22] For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
[23] But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
[24] But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
[25] Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
[26] For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
[27] But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

The Bible says there are two kinds of wisdom in the world. First, there is wisdom which views life in terms of eternity. The second is the wisdom of the world. Which kind of wisdom will you choose?

No Title

Good Morning,
It is a beautiful spring type morning today. The sun is shining with a gentle warm breeze and Connie has just rounded the corner on her handy dandy Murry lawn mower. That mower is completely wore out and no brakes, which is ok if you live on a level but we are on a hillside and that can get exciting sometimes. (smile)

Yesterday Connie came home with my 1 ton Chevy filled with bushes and trees.10 Bradford Pears some Red Maples and a bunch I have no idea of the names off, and bushes also. To make this long story short, as soon as I get ‘My Thought’ on here it looks as though I have been recruited to get the tractor out and put the post hole digger on and make some holes for the trees. Hee hee, I neglected to tell you the trees are nearly full grown and takes 2 men and a gorilla to move them around.

Well, Connie and I have been married 36 years now and we make a pretty good team, most of the time. (smile) I guess that is because a love for one another has grown over the years but mostly because we have become 1 (one) and we have followed some very important scripture in the Bible, which leads me to My Thought For Today, found in, Genesis 2:24 and also in Ephesians 5: 21, 33

Gen 2; 24 .Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Eph.5; 21, 33
21Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. 22Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 25Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 28So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. 29For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: 30For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

Put Christ first in your life and then first in your marriage and you will have a bond between yourself, your mate, and the Lord, that no one can break.

Good Morning,

Here it is, the middle of the week and the sun is shining and it is a comfortable 63 degrees. I can almost hear the grass growing. how pleasant to step out side and feel the warmth of the sun and the gentle breeze blowing. It sort of makes your body come alive when these sensations overtake you. I want to think a moment this morning about our bodies being a temple. My Thought For Today comes from;

I Corinthians6: 9, 20 verses 14, 19, 20 being our text
[9] Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
[10] Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
[11] And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
[12] All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
[13] Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
[14] And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.
[15] Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
[16] What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.
[17] But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
[18] Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that commiteth fornication sinneth against his own body.
[19] What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
[20] For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

If you trust the resurrected Christ as your Lord and Saviour, He will be with you when you die, and will give you life with Him forever. In the meantime, remember to take care of your earthen temple which God has given you to reside in. We will only have this frail body a short time. For when God calls us home we shall receive our new and glorious body.
