Well, it is back to the old grindstone for most of you this morning, after a weekend of grueling activities of play. Settling back to the humdrum of the daily chores and hard work. The weekend end of fun and play and do what you like in the way of relaxation is over, and we can concentrate on making a living for another week.
You know the old saying: Better get to work because, Baby needs a new pair of shoes. Speaking of which;
A baby is a small member of the family that makes love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, the bankroll smaller, the home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for. Don’t ask me where I am going with this. I just get up in the morning and ask the Lord to give me something that will bless you, pour a cup of coffee, no cigarettes as I quit on Christmas day, fire up this Puter and, as Jackie Gleason used to say on the Honeymooners, “Away we Go.” (smile)
You Know? I looked up W O R K in the back of my Bible just now and there are more references listed there than most words? If you don’t mind, I would love to share a few scriptures about work, as space permits, for My Thought For Today.
Proverbs 31: 31 Read verses 10 thru 31 One of the most beautiful passages in the Bible. This should be the goal of every woman.
[31] Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
Galatians 6: 4, 5
[4] But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
[5] For every man shall bear his own burden.
I Thessalonians 4: 11, 12
[11] And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
[12] That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.
II Thessalonians 3: 10
[10] For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
Hard physical work builds a strong physical body and is rewarded by a paycheck, but doing God’s work and studying you Bible builds character, gives knowledge and wisdom, and your reward is in Heaven. You need both to have a balance in life.
May God Bless you as you labor this day,
