I pray that you are fairing
well in the aftermath of the ice storm and the angels of protection
are hovering above you at this time. It is sunny but cold out side but
what a delightful feeling and knowledge of the simple fact that God in
His love for you and me has given to each of us, His mighty angel
servants not to be worshipped, as they are very careful to tell us,
but reverenced and respected as God helping hands and under His
watchful eye… Before we read Francie’s letter which stemmed this study
I would like to share this story concerning a combat soldier and
angels…

Patrick is here in the
study working on building my cabinet and as I mentioned about this
study on angels he told me of one experience he had during his tour
in Iraq concerning angels. He told how he and 12 of his buddies were
saved from a certain death from an explosion using 7 bombs (IED
Explosive device) linked together to go off simultaneously as their
semi drove past... As it turned out six were knocked out and several
were blown out of the truck but the driver who was closest to the
explosion was never knocked out. Patrick said that he had been blown
out of the truck and woke up a good ways from the truck laying in
the ditch with another soldier laying on top of him; which, (the
truck) by the way hadn't turned over. That would have probably
killed those left in the truck... Patrick brought in some pictures
and I thought I'd put them below the story for you...
While the front end of
the truck was blown up and the master sergeant bomb expert of over
20 years said he had never seen anything like it before:
The bombs looked like
this: @----@----@----@----@----@----@ and was the
length of the
semi truck : ==Representing the Truck====
which carried the
twelve soldiers. The amazing and miraculous part is that only the
first two bombs went off. The master sergeant said they were
correctly wired and should have blown but it looked like the
detonation cord had been cut with a pair of scissors between the
second and third bomb as they had exploded because it left the
detonation cord which was curled up from the blast... Had all 7 bombs gone
off, everyone would have been killed.
Patrick, who is a born again
Christian, said he knew in his heart that angels were watching over
them and had cut the cord... As a result of Patrick's witnessing of
this instance and of other same type instances of intervention from
God which saved the lives of his platoon that all of the men became
saved. Patrick said before each mission he would kneel before the
men of his platoon and lead them in prayer for safety... Patrick
said that many platoons in his company and other companies in this
war were Christians and had prayer before each mission. I will ask
right here that you all remember our men and women who are in harms
way and in the armed services protecting our rights to be free and
safe at home.
Patrick is on the left with one of his
buddies, Ernie, and that is their truck in the background. These are some of
the bombs they found and the black line across the top is C-4...
They are going to blow up those bombs which were going to be used
along side the road on the American troops...
Here is Patrick with some more munitions which are going to be
destroyed...
And this is one of the bombs of mass destruction which the media
claimed weren't even in Iraq and the Americans never found nor could
find... Behind Patrick is another crate with more of these best kept
secrets form the folks back home...

Read Isaiah 6:1-8
Verse 1-8 - In this
figurative vision, the temple is thrown open to view, even to the most
holy place. The prophet, standing outside the temple, sees the Divine
Presence seated on the mercy-seat, raised over the ark of the
covenant, between the cherubim and seraphim, and the Divine glory
filled the whole temple. See God upon his throne. This vision is
explained, John 12:41,. that Isaiah now saw Christ's glory, and spake
of Him, which is a full proof that our Saviour is God. In Christ
Jesus, God is seated on a throne of grace; and through him the way
into the holiest is laid open. See God's temple, his church on earth,
filled with his glory. His train, the skirts of his robes, filled the
temple, the whole world, for it is all God's temple. And yet he dwells
in every contrite heart. See the blessed attendants by whom his
government is served. Above the throne stood the holy angels, called
seraphim, which means "burners;" they burn in love to God, and zeal
for his glory against sin. The seraphim showing their faces veiled,
declares that they are ready to yield obedience to all God's commands,
though they do not understand the secret reasons of his counsels,
government, or promises. All vain-glory, ambition, ignorance, and
pride, would be done away by one view of Christ in his glory.
This awful vision of the
Divine Majesty overwhelmed the prophet with a sense of his own
vileness. We are undone if there is not a Mediator between us and this
holy God. A glimpse of heavenly glory is enough to convince us that
all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags. Nor is there a man that
would dare to speak to the Lord, if he saw the justice, holiness, and
majesty of God, without discerning his glorious mercy and grace in
Jesus Christ.
The live coal may denote
the assurance given to the prophet, of pardon, and acceptance in his
work, through the atonement of Christ. Nothing is powerful to cleanse
and comfort the soul, but what is taken from Christ's satisfaction and
intercession. The taking away sin is necessary to our speaking with
confidence and comfort, either to God in prayer, or from God in
preaching; and those shall have their sin taken away who complain of
it as a burden, and see themselves in danger of being undone by it. It
is great comfort to those whom God sends, that they go for God, and
may therefore speak in his name, assured that he will bear them out.

All angels do not display
wings or else they would not be able to remain unawares but noticed
and recognized as angels...
Heb 13:2
2 Be not forgetful to
entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels
unawares. (KJV)

this set of verses should be the clincher as for the wings of angels
as God told Moses exactly how to build the Ark of the Covenant...
Exodus 25: 1 - 8, 22
1 And the LORD spake unto
Moses, saying,
8 And let them make me a
sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.
9 According to all that I
show thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all
the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it.
10 And they shall make an ark
of shittim wood: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof,
and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the
height thereof.
11 And thou shalt overlay it
with pure gold, within and without shalt thou overlay it, and shalt
make upon it a crown of gold round about.
12 And thou shalt cast four
rings of gold for it, and put them in the four corners thereof; and
two rings shall be in the one side of it, and two rings in the other
side of it.
13 And thou shalt make staves
of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold.
14 And thou shalt put the
staves into the rings by the sides of the ark, that the ark may be
borne with them.

wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the mercy
seat shall the faces of the cherubim be.
21 And thou shalt put the
mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the
testimony that I shall give thee.
22 And there I will meet with
thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from
between the two cherubim which are upon the ark of the testimony, of
all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of
Israel.
The ark was a chest,
overlaid with gold, in which the two tables of the law were to be
kept. These tables are called the testimony; God in them testified his
will. This law was a testimony to the Israelites, to direct them in
their duty, and would be a testimony against them, if they
transgressed.
This ark was placed in the
holy of holies; the blood of the sacrifices was sprinkled, and the
incense burned, before it, by the high priest; and above it appeared
the visible glory, which was the symbol of the Divine presence.
This was a type of Christ
in his sinless nature, which saw no corruption, in personal union with
his Divine nature, atoning for our sins against it, by his death. The
cherubim of gold looked one towards another, and both looked downward
toward the ark. It denotes the angels' attendance on the Redeemer,
their readiness to do his will, their presence in the assemblies of
saints, and their desire to look into the mysteries of the gospel. It
was covered with a covering of gold, called the mercy-seat. God is
said to dwell, or sit between the cherubim, on the mercy-seat. There
he would give his law, and hear supplicants, as a prince on his
throne.
I hope that this study has
helped clarify the realm of angelic beings. They come in many forms
and shapes and mighty in their abilities but they all are of praise
and service to God.
