I just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving and thank you because you are a big blessing to those you write to. In myself I have notice that I have gotten to read your e-mails all the time, at first only a few or maybe not at all, but I love the way you explain things WITH the Bible. Like when you responded to Lee's letter that was awesome. I'm so thankful to God for giving you

That is why I am writing. To me, it is a Blessing. An e-mail that I look forward to each day.
I read, I study, I pray not only for the ones you request prayer for, but also the ones you don't.
I pray for you; that God will continue to bless you and let you continue to write and witness

Thank you for your daily messages. They really keep me going sometimes and make me laugh and cry at other times. I will pray for you as always (esp. this week) and stay safe in all that rain the weather channel says you are having (or going to have). I agree with you about God sending angels down to protect us from ourselves. We had a really close call last month. I was visiting our family in Texas for my sister's graduation - my husband stayed home to work. At about 10 p.m. he heard a terrible crash that sounded like someone slammed into our garage (both of our cars were parked outside in the driveway).

He looked out the window and saw that a truck that had been parked up on the hill above us had rolled down backwards and had crashed into the fire hydrant about 3 feet from where my car was parked. If it had hit, my car would have smashed sideways into my husband's brand new work truck that we had just bought. The Lord was surely watching out for us that night.
Praise the Lord!!

Thank you for today's message. I really needed those verses! I know now that Our Lord and Savior is very much in control of my life and that through you, He has sent me just what I needed to hear. The past week has been a difficult one, that required me to stand for what I believe and own up to my own shortcomings. I have been searching all week for scripture to let me know that
I had done the right thing. This was exactly what I needed, praise God!
I learned today that this past week was where I acted as the faithful steward and I look to Jesus to be the judge of my actions. Like Paul says:

I thank you and encourage you to continue with this. All we as Christians can do, is spread the truth, as you said, it's up to others what they do with the knowledge. It can be sad and discouraging but, you and I both know, that one day we will be judged before Christ, and I for one am secure in the fact that spreading His word is what He wants and expects of us.
We may sometimes feel like "outcasts" and we may sometimes "take some heat" for what we believe. It won't be us though, that ends up "taking the heat" for eternity. I thank God for you Jim. (By the way, I'm only 32, and I am in complete agreement with you, so, it's not an "old-timer" thing!! Ha Ha)

Good Afternoon Jim!
Just wanted to write and let you know that Rick and I have so much enjoyed each and every one of your emails and letters! They're all wonderful and interesting and have been such a blessing to us here. Thank you for the beautiful Christmas email greeting card too!
Those candles that are on the email you sent, are so pretty. I don’t' know how to do that on an email like that. I'm still learning how to use my computer here. I haven't been on line in about three weeks now as there's been so much going on here.
My only daughter Shelley is in the hospital so if you could add her to your prayer list, I'd sure appreciate it. She's still having such a hard time about her brother, my son Jeff dying. She saw him die and it has had a terrible effect on her. She has been Bulemic and has been battling that disease now. But we think she will pull thru' and be okay. By the Grace of God. My husband Rick has recently had a mild stroke. The doctor said it was the stress of Jeff
dying but Rick is better and can move around pretty much as normal, except that his left side is kinda numb now. He's still working and is handling the pain from his left side the best he can. Please remember us in your prayers. As if getting older wasn't bad enough, ha.
All this. This just hasn't been a good year for us. But then again Jim, it's always a good year because we have Christ living in our hearts! I am doing fine except for my brand new thyroid problem. Well, the Dr. I went to gave me some pills to take for it and when I got home, before taking them, I decided to look them up and be sure the pills were safe. I ended up throwing them away after finding out that the pills he gave me for my thyroid were dangerous and for severe heart patients. I called this Doctor up and asked him if my heart was okay and he said "yes, your heart is fine, nothing wrong with it" so I asked him why he gave me some dangerous heart pills. He had no answer. Go figure!! I have gotten to where I don’t trust too many doctors these days. You have been in our prayers Jim and as you are a dear brother in Christ to us.

Just like you, I preach the Gospel without compromise and if it steps on peoples toes I just say "I'm sorry because I was aiming for your heart." I commend you for not backing off sir. We live in a time today where more preachers need to stand up in their pulpits and preach with power instead of with a powder puff.

I have no idea what the person's problem is, because all you send makes good sense and is from the bible, excluding the jokes.. But there .... is a time for laughter and dancing even!! And God did not intend this world to look like a prune with no happiness, smiles and laughter among the seriousness that we face daily..
I say "well done" Jim.. and God bless you.. Stick with preaching the Word to others, just as Christ did not quit, do not ever quit. There are too many out there 'needing the Word'.... Love hearing from you, have since I met you and so glad we have remained friends through the year.. I know I do not write often, but this letter that was written to you, well, it hurt me. You see, your words are a comfort to my son(who is in prison), your thoughts are food for his soul and talking of all the things that happen around you are a look to the outside and life of someone who is Blessed. I thank God and You. Please fill my email all you want. I print it out and send it to my baby in Prison and some of the other inmates also read them and I can not help but believe that you have reached more souls than you know. THANKS so much for your response to my letter! I made a print copy of your letter, so I would not lose it (this would be just the time I'd lose a message when I NEED to keep it!). I appreciate your help, and keeping me in your personal file until I get things straightened out. I saved your message in Microsoft word documents also. I think my e-mails are not reaching
you, because I am using incorrect letters. Once, I sent it "...con", then "c0 (zero) n". I am sending it now "...con", and praying it reaches you. If it does, I will promptly write again with a prayer request. Meanwhile, I will study your notes (after brailling them out on my braille embosser) and perhaps I will then know what to do.

I would love to hear you preach, maybe not five hours but close. I pray
to be that beacon of light, especially to my daughter. she is addicted to
prescription drugs. Then when I am around her, I am very impatient with her,
and say things, it is so hard. this has been going for so long, she has used
me and her children to get these drugs, I don’t know what to do for her
except to pray. Lord let me be a light for her. And control my mouth, I am on
oxygen all of the time so that helps with my breathing.

I think of that small country church we use to pastor. I still can hear that little choir singing. Some of those dear saints have been called home ,its supper time.     WELCOME BACK!!  Been missing you.  Been praying for you...We aren't licked yet, are we??  Old Satan just threw in a snag or two, but we can whip him, can't we? Be much in prayer for a dear friend and cousin of mine, Rev. Robert Phillips, known around here as Bro. Robert.  He is in the hospital with cancer and is in much pain. 
He misses not being able to visit the sick and shut ins.  No matter if you weren't a member of his church he would visit just by knowing of your situation, and no matter if it were Evansville, Nashville, Madisonville, or any of the other hospitals in our area, he'd go if called to go.  In my book, few people would qualify for my saying that!!

hi jim,,,,just saying hello and  hope you all are doing ok... remember evonnes dad bro. robert phillips in prayer,, he has cancer of the bone and lymph nodes,,, hes in western baptist hospital, has been for over 3 weeks, hes took radiation, this is his third week, but i just dont see him ever coming home from the hospital,, hes in so much pain... and sick of his stomach, he was sick of his stomach before he ever took the radiation..... he said to just pray that God will just have his way with him...  also remember my son shawn and dennis both this sunday.. shawn is going to preach sunday morning, and dennis that night... the pastor will be away this weekend.. and he ask them to do the services... this make dennis's 3rd time.. He accepted the call in jan..... im proud of both of them... My hummingbirds are finally starting to come back, seen my first one sunday afternoon... last year they came back about april the first.... Hope you will have a good week,, take care and God Bless.

Hi brother Jim,....I didn't want to do it this way, I copied and pasted it into a new email, too bad it didn't show the picture.  Thank you so much for sending me a personal email letter.  I know I have been slack at emailing, I'm doing a lot of reading, I got this whole set the Left Behind series books, there are 11 and the last volume #12 is coming out end of this month, besides reading those books and the Bible, and by the time I go through all my emails, my eyes don't want to focus any more,  but I do check me email every day, I do really enjoy reading all of yours,  I love to hear about all things at there at the Bar K Ranch, around here we don't have any Ranch like yours.  I read everything with great interest, and your Thoughts for the Day with all the scripture verses. I thank the good Lord every day that you're still with us to keep this ministry going, it sure has been a blessing, and it's so great that He (the Lord) has given you so many to minister to, it's over 450 you have in your little flock now.....Jesus is so wonderful...glory to His name..

Jim would you Pray for my Mother Anna. She is 85 & blind and has 2nd stages of Alzheimer's. I am her son Keith & my Mother lives with me in my home. It is just us two, God & the four walls. There are some people who told me to put my Mother is a nursing home, now Jim that would break my heart so I do the best I can to care for her. Thank the Lord I am retired because as long as I can give her good care she will be right here at home with me. God only gives you what you can handle you know.
I have my health problems too, I had cancer twice & blocked arties two years ago, but I am doing ok for now. The Lord is keeping this old boy going to care for his Mother.  Well it is sure good to see you back again. I will keep you & yours in Prayer. Thanks again for the e-mails you send because I love to hear about peoples family and what is going on. Interesting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi there, glad to have you back on. I was so worried after all my email came back. I was afraid something had happen to you or Miss Connie. Finely I used my ole Okie noggin and rambled thought stuff and found Steve's add. He had sent out email on your behalf when you were ill. He told me you were having pc problems. So see even if you didn't  wanted to you are stuck with me. (smile) I pray for you and yours all the time. Many a time I have really been down and you say just the right thing that day to cheer me up. I  gave my daughter the extra cd you sent me. She has about a 40 min commute to work, she has really enjoyed it (like mother like daughter).
 The weather here today is just beautiful, had lunch on the back patio and really enjoyed the mocking birds. Clarence is a farmer, he is always telling me God told him to do this job this way or that. He is so funny , we have been married 19 years today. Can you imagine a Holiness marrying a Catholic who by the way said he would never change his religion.? But God had other plans for that Portagee. He had a 14 hour surgery 2 years ago to remove a tumor from his acoustic nerve. It was resting on his brain stem. When he woke up in ICU  he had 3 angels in his room. He now tell the world about his 3 angels. He had become a christian about 5 years ago, and really gives God his praise.

Brother Jim,  I have prayed for your little flock and my heart goes out to them all / The ones that have lost or are loosing their infant  babies Jim if you go to the sight Jesus has a rocking chair and read the story about where these babies go / It is beautiful and helps knowing that Jesus is holding these children and rocking them. I know the pain / my daughter lost her 7 month term baby and she was devastated / I read this story to her and she said it helped / It did not take the pain away for sometime but the vision of her unborn child in the arms of Jesus Kept her going. I've been home from work since march 9 with a shattered knee and It has not been fun!!!!

Dear Jim,

It seems as though you need a word of encouragement. As your subject line says "Praise His Name." I have found to my wonder and delight, that when problems seem to beset me from all sides, when I suffer from "writer's block" and everything in my life seems to be going wrong, if I stop and take the time to give thanks for those problems, they lose their hold on me and I am able to return my focus on the Lord who does a magnificent job of taking care of me. (Even though I don't seem to deserve it)

I am not real great in quoting what chapter and verse and I am no expert when it comes to quoting scripture verbatim, but in one or more of Paul's letters, he tells us to give thanks for all things. I do. I give thanks for the good things, and yes, for the bad things too. If there is one thing I have learned from doing this, is that I feel good thanking Jesus for my blessings, but I feel great in thanking Him for the inconveniences and setbacks because I live in the assurance that He has something for me in them that will make me stronger in my faith! So don't worry about the Geocities, and Yahoo business...

Dear Jim, I don't know why, but you have been very much on my mind lately and I have been praying for you. As I read the emails I have received from you today I began to think, "He gets lots of emails and forwards but does anyone ever say that they appreciate his ministry?" So here I sit, writing this to you to do just that, tell you thank you for your messages! I cannot tell you just how many times that they have lifted me when I felt down or have spoken to me about a need that I had been praying over. One of the things I have always enjoyed in your messages, is how you invite your readers into your home. I don't think you realize how many times I have been sitting on the porch with you in the mornings as you watched the sun come up over God's glorious green earth and listened with a smile as the sounds of your family emanate from the next room. I think I have even kept you company a few times when you have worked on different projects in your garage. Bet you didn't know that this former NJ person (I live in Wyoming now) had such a lively imagination! Then without missing a beat you use the very happenings around you to lead into your message. I am taking a discipleship course at the church we attend. It's more than a bible study, it's got lots of oomph to it. Plenty of meat and taters for a hungry Christian! So far we have discussed the bible as God's word (An overview of the different kinds of literature in it) And tomorrow we will be studying Creation and God's awesome power and majesty! I am so excited to be a part of it. It's funny, when I first heard that the course was available I KNEW that I had to take the course. The voice in my heart was telling me loud and clear. I just love seeing how God is moving hearts and minds and bringing folks closer to him. A few people in our class, have no knowledge of the bible at all and want to know more. It is going to be such an awesome sight to watch their faith grow! Well, Jim, my daughter has come in from school and is beginning to give me a litany of the day's doings so I must go and listen to the adventures of a 13 (almost 14) year old's day. She is such a chatterbox that I will be hard put to keep up with what she is saying. *Grin* Say a prayer for her. she is singing in the choir next sunday for the first time. My Husband was a Marine for almost 9 years, we crossed services into the Airforce almost 3 years ago.... where he is still proudly serving his country. He still looks like a Marine, I honestly think you can take the Man out of the Marines but NEVER the Marine out of the Man!! I just had to share that He is fighting for Freedom while I sit and type this letter to you. Yes he is deployed right now to an undisclosed location. So I wait and pray for him. We have 2 small children, a 5 year old Son (with ADHD/ODD) who adores him and a 2 year old Daughter who has him wrapped around her little finger LOL. The thing that weighs heavy on my heart is that Fred was hurt badly by fellow christians when he was newly saved and no longer comes to church...... I pray for him daily.
