Is Your Name Written in the Lambs Book Of Life

Greetings in the precious name of Jesus,

Wow! What a beautiful day it is outside to be serving Our Lord and Saviour, JesusÖ Today Iíd like to ask you a very important question; Is your Name Written in the Lambs Book of life??? And as we ponder this most important question today; Iíll ask that you bear with me as Iím still fighting this cold.
Iíd like to take our text from: Revelations 20:15 and Revelation 3:5

 Revelations 20: 15
15. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Revelation 3: 5
5. He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Now before we get started Iíd like to bring out one very important point here. If your name is not found in the Book Of Life; you are going to spend all of eternity in a devilís Hell???  BUT, and listen closely now: If you are saved or as we read here, one that overcometh, you will be clothed in white raiment, signifying purity, and your name WILL NOT be blotted from the Book of Life. Thatís right; God doesnít have a big eraser and remove your name from the Book of Life every time you sin. If He did the pages would be torn to a frazzle for everyone sins even after being savedÖ

Does that mean our attitude shall be that we can live like the devil after being saved and our name written in the book of life. NOOOO SIREEE. Folks who think along those lines, donít have their hearts right in the first place and even though they go thru the motions they are most time NOT truly saved. Does that mean you and I can live sinless lives. NO. But folks who are truly saved will be striving to live for the Lord and will repent when they get away from the Lord. And if they donít get themselves right with God they will be punished, even to the point of death. Otherwise they are bastards and not sons.

Hebrews 12: 2, 8
2 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

Well Iím getting away from where I was going today. LOL

I wish to talk about a rich man and a man by the name of Lazarus. Jesus tells this story which we find in Luke 16; 19, 31

19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

I picture this man as we might picture a rich person today. Well dressed, an elaborate mansion for a home with electric gates down in front; with servants and chiefs and gardener. Fancy cars and perhaps a plane and all the trimmings. Yes, a prominent Mr. SO and So in mans eyes. Odd, isnít it that this manís name isnít even mentioned in the Bible. On the other hand;

20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
And isnít it strange that this poor beggar with only dogs for comfort and crumbs from the rich manís table to eat is noted and named in our Bibles. Letís see if we can figure it out.

22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
Hmmm, one is carried into paradise and Abrahamís bosom and the other is buried.

23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

We find here that the rich man goes into ĎHadesí, ďthe unseen worldĒ. This is the place of departed human spirits between death and resurrection. This Greek work, Hades, is equivalent to the Old Testament word; ďSheolĒ. Hades here is before the ascension of Christ. This passage makes it clear that Hades was formally in two divisions. Those who abode there were respectively of the saved and of the lost. The former was called paradise and Abrahamís bosom. The blessed dead were with Abraham and were conscious and were comforted. Vs25.The lost were separated by a great gulf fixed. The rich man was alive, conscious, had his full faculties, and his memory but was in torment.

Hell is no longer divided because when Christ died and was buried He descended into hell and took all the saints which were there to Heaven before the third day when and as we recognized His resurrection from the dead. And it was at this point that hell enlarged itself and the great gulf is no longer there as told in the Old Testament. Isaiah 5; 14

27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

We notice in these last 5 verses that the rich man all of a sudden wants to become a missionary. He has five brothers and he doesnít want them to come to this dreadful place. Iíve heard folks laugh and tell me that they are going to hell where all their friends are. How sad. If they only knew that their friends donít want them to be in that terrible place of torment. People make fun of hell all of the time donít they?

But this rich man believes that if Lazarus would go back from the dead and tell his brothers that they would listen to him because he came back from the dead. But they wouldnít because we have a risen Saviour who has come back from the dead and folks didnít and still donít believe in Him.

Yes, Lazarusís name is written in the Lambs Book of Life and he, along with all the Old Testament saints and those who have died in Christ are in Heaven today. As for the rich man? Well he is still in the holding tank of hell. The reason I said holding tank is because hell is like being in a modern day jail awaiting trial to be sentenced to go to prison. Only these who are in this devilís hell are awaiting for that great white throne  judgment when they shall stand before God and sentenced to spend all of eternity in that lake of fire and brimstone.

Oh -- I pray that youíll not be one of these lost folks standing before God in that dayÖ I can only ask; Is your name written in the Lambs Book of life today? If not:

Why not get your life right with God today? Youíll be eternally glad that you did and I can look forward to seeing you there in Heaven. Well Glory! Well folks, The time seems to slip away so fast so let me say; Thank you so much for coming and so, until we meet again,

May the angels watch over you this next week and may Our Heavenly Father fill your hearts in His love and give you that victory in Jesus.

Thank you for coming today and Iíll ask that you ponder on this thought.  IF your name isnít written in the Lambís Book of Life then you'll not be singing this song; "Lord, I'm Coming Home"...

Have a great week & May God Bless
