Welcome to the '50' Chevy
Progress Page # 3

Well Glory, Here we are a month and 1/2 later and it is a slow go but all the welding is just about done. I did find 2 small holes in the back seat section but it won't take much to fix so I'm so happy that this part is about finished. Connie girl got me the sealer for the welds and some carpet glue but the interior will have to be painted before we get to that part. Well, I don't know if these pictures will show much but it should give you an idea of the progress. (smile)
Did want to show my grandson, Will. He has been trying to ease the load for his Pa Pa and has helped me get the trim taken off and will help me sand the hard to get to places when it comes time to paint the interior... We're having a hard time waiting... LOL

1.

This is Will taking off the trim from around the doors and windows... Will just
turned 15 years and a big help to his Pa Pa.

2.

These are the drivers side floor pans and the rusty looking piece under the gas pedal
doesn't get welded down. It has to be removed to check the brake fluid level.
Connie girl removed the gas pedal for me so I could weld the metal under it.
Don't know what I'd do with out my helpers... (smile)

3.

Here is the trunk section and I had to use the wood to push and
pry the pieces together so as to have a tight fit to weld...

4.

Had to make a dog leg and that is a rail road spike driven under
one side to force a tight fit to weld in the trunk section.

5.

This is the drivers side of the trunk.

6.

Had to weld a washer and then pry to make those stubborn pieces fit. LOL

7.

This is the part around the gas tank. I welded it in solid but was a
little bit Leary because the rubber hoses going to the tank were right under it.

8.

Well, this is where we are at this time. I hope that you've enjoyed see the progress
on the little ole '50' Chevy. The next page will have the final interior paint and
carpet in place, Lord willing we'll be able to close the doors and begin the
outside of the ole car... May take awhile but check back and see the progress of
this ole man's attempts at beautifying this ole classic...  (Smile)
