Welcome

To the

~ Going down the Road Page ~

Hi Folks,

Well Glory! Bet cha never thought I'd make it did ya... LOL  But here we are and the little '50' Chevy is looking so much better now. I guess someone else will get to put the final touches on the ole gal but I'm just tickled to be able to get to this point... A door glass and a radio blank, some chrome attention, and painting her your favorite color and she's ready to go first class. But for now she is a daily driver and an attention getter... I took these pictures this afternoon, Feb. 8, 2008. and  Yea, as you can see it's got my grandson's attention and lots of folks took notice when we came thru town... *smile*

Yes sir, it looks good from both ends too. *smile*

Yes sir, the trunk is completed as well and has been painted and carpeted in black.
Even the back seats no longer show their springs when you raise the lid.

Hmm, gonna have to clean up that spare tire and wheel. If you remember earlier
we had to cover the wheel well because of the size of the new gas tank so it
looks as though the spare will have to ride like that. But there is still some room
for a few bags of groceries and a tool box, golf bags, and some fishing tackle... LOL

Speaking of which if we're going to go down the road we may want to take some friends with us and the nicest thing about these oldies is they have some room to get you and all of your friends inside. *smile* Of coarse having pretty and newly upholstered seats  and matching door panels just add the right pizzazz to the road trip adventure.

Yep, the interior has been gone over, headliner and all. *smile*

Even Panda Bear is ready to go for a ride. *smile* This is the only window that has a crack. Not bad enough to leak but it does need to be replaced to look better. But hey, I ain't planning to take her out in the rain and on pretty days I just roll that ole window down anyway.... LOL

Had to look hard to see the tiny hair line crack in the drivers door glass didn't ya?
Well we won't blame ya not seeing it because of your eyes. After all it's in the garage now and the lighting isn't very good. Ya, it's sorta dark in there alright...
Anyway that's my story and I'm sticking to it...  LOL

So let's crank her up and take a little spin, OK?

Yep, that 350 High performance motor should carry all our friends around pretty good, even up these Kentucky hills... *smile*

So just climb in behind the ole steering wheel and let's;;;;;

GO,  GO,  GO,

I sure do hope that you all enjoyed the tour. I want to thank Joe Powell for doing such a great job on the interior work and final touches of bringing the little '50' Chevy to the last page of the,

"Going Down the Road with Jim Keeling in his little '50' Chevy"...

Thank you for looking and I hope that you all had as much fun looking as I've had in doing this page for you and showing you my oldie but goodie...

So until the next time:
May the Lord watch over you as keep you safe as you enjoy going down that
wonderful  highway of life...
